Leave of Absence Training

Antonio Mould's Portfolio

Show managers how to code Leave of Absence correctly.
Providing parental leave requires that managers code timecards in the workforce management solution (Kronos). At my company, many of them were coding timecards incorrectly or leaving them blank, which in turn affected employee paychecks. Their business goal was to decrease the number of incorrect employee paychecks due to Leave of Absence coding issues by at least 50% by the end of the year.

The Design Process

Initial Design
I determined that an online course could satisfy the training needs of this audience by providing skills and information to code correctly the cards for each leave type. In addition, I decided to build a job aid they could use after training as a reference tool when doing these tasks.

I outlined a design strategy which included relevant learning objectives, and learning strategies to present, practice and evaluate learning success. I also established a timeline and milestones for the project.

Development

To provide the team with an idea of the course’s look and feel, I developed some initial prototypes of the presentations, training scenarios and simulations.

Based on their suggestions, I built the course storyboard and adjusted the content, learning strategies and visual elements. I also built the final solution and refined it after additional feedback from the team.

The course was finally concluded and deployed in the company LMS, and December 2023 was chosen as the project evaluation date.
